Na wstępie mojego listu pozdrawiam Was serdecznie z wakacji. Chcę Wam opowiedzieć o mojej słoniczce Mbegu.
Na swoje 7 urodziny zaadoptowałam malutką słoniczkę z Kenii w Afryce. Zbierałam na ten cel pieniążki przez kilka miesięcy. Mbegu straciła swoją mamę i rodzinę w wieku 7 tygodni. Słonie są zabijane dla kości słoniowej z której robione są różne ozdoby... za 11 lat może ich już nie być na świecie. Nie chcę żeby zginęły!!!!
Pani Daphne Sheldrick założyła sierociniec dla słoni, nosorożców w Kenii i od wielu lat ratuje zwierzęta. Gdy podrosną wypuszcza je na wolność!!
Napisałam taki list do moich kolegów i koleżanek z klasy aby wspólnie adoptować słonika. Nie wiem czy im się spodoba ten pomysł.
Może Wy też do mnie dołączycie? Może namówicie kogoś do adopcji słoni?
Ja raz w miesiącu dostaję informację o tym jak sobie radzi Mbegu.Mogę także oglądać jej nowe zdjęcia.

Myślę, że jest to bardzo cenny przekaz. Moje dzieci poruszył bardzo. Może także poruszy i Wasze serca? Czasem myślę, że gdybyśmy od samego początku pomagali sobie nawzajem na tyle, na ile możemy, świat naprawdę cieszyłby się większym pokojem :D

A couple of days ago my close friend's daughter placed this list on the Internet, addressed to other children:
"Hello!!!
First, I would like to say hello to You from where I am now, on holidays. I want to tell You about my little elephant girl, called Mbegu.
On my 7th birthday I adopted a little elephant in Kenia, Africa. I have been collected the money for this aim for several months. Mbegu has lost her mummy and her family when she was 7 weeks only. Elephants are being killed by people for their ivory, from which people make different ornaments and decorations. It is estimated now that in 11 years of time the elephants may no longer exist on the Earth. I don't want them to extinct!
Ms Daphne Sheldrick established a nursery for elephants and rhinoceros in Kenia, and she has been saving those animals for many years now. When they grow up, they are being set free!!!
I wrote this letter to You, my friends and colleagues from my school class, so that we could all adopt an elephant, as a class. I hope You will follow my idea.
Maybe You will join me too? Maybe You will persuade someone to adopt and help another elephant from the nursery?
Once a month, I receive an information about Mbegu - this way I know what is she doing, if she is ok. I can also see her pictures, watch her grow.

I think this letter is a good example to follow. My children were really moved reading those words. Perhaps this letter will touch your hearts as well? Sometimes I think that If we all help one another as much as we could, the world would really turn into a very peaceful place.
